History

Albury was known as Bungambrawatha, or 'Homeland', by the Wiradjuri people. In 1838 with colonial settlement, it was named Albury.

The Aboriginal Families Resettlement Scheme  moved people from all over into a MixedMob community.

An ealry colonial trading centre, Albury became a hub for policing, banking services, trade and freight, customs and education. Albury Wodonga has grown into one of Australia's largest regional cities.
